Hotel Sao Jorge Garden

The hotel is located near the shore, so if you have seaside room you'll get an amazing view on the Atlantic and Pico island across the channel, nice to spend an evening on the balcony with a bottle of Azorean wine and cheese from Sao Gorge). Velas town is small, so everything is within a walking range from the hotel. Rooms and their equipment look a bit 'tired', but ok. Breakfast is excellent, there are hot meals: scrambled eggs, beacon etc — when you read in comments "nothing to eat for vegans" it's usually a reliable indicator that the food should be good))), the same is true for this place.

The view was amazing. Location was excellent. Right across the street from Car Rental. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good. Walking distance to many good restaurants and natural pool. 10 out of 10 for the staff…when we checked out at 6 am, it was raining so hard, the guy on duty at the front desk drove us to the ferry….(we had planned to walk to the ferry, and had not booked a taxi, so instead of letting us walk in the rain, we were grateful for the offer to drive us…he went above and beyond!!)

The location of the hotel is very nice and the staff very friendly. The view is amazing and it was OK for a one night stay

Super helpful staff that were very flexible during our stay and after it (storing luggage until the evening boat arrived), great room, recommended!
